Sucralfate in Sucranex-O forms a complex with proteinaceous exudate in ulcers and adheres to the damaged ulcer tissue as a gel line webbing. It serves as a bandage & protects against acids & enzymes for improved healing.
 
Sucralfate in Sucranex-O also protects the stomach lining after taking Aspirin and also protects mouth sores which occurs with cancer chemotherapy.
Sucranex-O is safe & effective when administered to diabetic patients & children, as it comes in sugar free form.

Where as, Oxetacaine provides prolonged anesthetic action for quicker & painless healing.
Oxetacaine is active even in strong acidic conditions- {ref. seifter J, Glassman JM, Hudyma GM(1962)}
